it's kinda creepy how J DILLA's younger brother ILLA J not only looks a lot like him, but also have the same incredible insight in the structure n makin of music... someone defined the Yancey family as the Jackson family from Mars haha... ye might be correct, although they have a whole lotta old school in their chromosomes as well... jazz jammin parents n all...
ILLA J has recently released an album on Delicious Vinyl, based on fragmented pieces of J DILLA material, n this multitalented sibling isn't only producing a final master of those leftovers... he's also doin the rap n the singin... geeesh sum ppl aaready...

I won't ever forget the set J DILLA/JAY DEE blessed us with in Stockholm, what was it 5 or 6 years ago...? however THRILLING to see that thin little boyish man (but yet enormous in talent!!!!) perform on the decks, only an arms length away... at the time no one knew what disease he suffered from, you jus thought he was thin cus he forgot to eat doin all those astonishing beats... telling journalists that he only had one glass of orange juice a day gave us a feeling... n then the bomb dropped... REST IN BEATS J DILLA n may your little brother keep the YANCEY spirit in our hearts - the speakers.

Jag mår genuint dåligt för att jag aldrig har sett J Dilla eller träffat honom... Finns ingen i världen som har betytt så mycket för mig musikaliskt.
